However on the laptop, the service is called simply "Smart Card" and includes Plug and Play as a required service. If one of those services IS NOT RUNNING then; start them and make them automatic, reboot and try again.HTHI've checked those services on my working computer and they are set to I have two other computer almost identical to this one, which is the one having the problem. The middleware won't recognize reader on desktop even though Device Manager indicates the reader is installed and operating properly.
