I'm not an expert on SMART, but as I see it, on SMART data only 4 sectors were (sucessfully) reallocated, the rest is "pending reallocation", that means that either the HDD It's installed at the factory for drive evaluation upon failure. That's my 2 cents. They are too cheap....
Instructions may vary with other versions or operating systems. causeing the drive to fail for sure...then RMA it... All I'm saying that the previous error still shows, and unless you can get your hands on tools used by manufactures, to rest the drive's SMART status, it will still show. I have another couple of laptop drives with erroneous SMART data.
I haven't acually used SeaTools (Seagate's drive utilities), have you given that a try. Sign in to make your opinion count. I will be keeping until it dies or becomes irrelevant. Curious how long do you think it'll last me?
